March 2025 SASSA Grant Payouts: Dates, Amounts & How to Access Funds

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the payment schedule and updated grant amounts for March 2025. Beneficiaries should take note of these dates to ensure timely access to their funds. Additionally, SASSA has introduced an important update regarding the replacement of the SASSA Gold Card.

SASSA Grant Payment Dates & Amounts for March 2025

Older Persons Grant

Payments for the Older Persons Grant will be made on Monday, 3 March 2025. Beneficiaries will receive R2,080 per month. This grant is provided to South African citizens or permanent residents aged 60 and above who meet the qualifying criteria.

Disability Grant

The Disability Grant will be paid on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, with recipients receiving R2,080 per month. This grant supports individuals with disabilities that prevent them from being employed.

Child Support Grant

Scheduled for Thursday, 6 March 2025, the Child Support Grant provides R500 per child per month to caregivers of children under 18 years of age.

Foster Child Grant

Foster parents will receive the Foster Child Grant on Thursday, 6 March 2025, with an amount of R1,070 per child per month. This financial assistance is meant to support the upbringing of foster children.

Care Dependency Grant

Also set for Thursday, 6 March 2025, the Care Dependency Grant provides R2,190 per month to caregivers of children with severe disabilities who require full-time care.

Grant-in-Aid

Beneficiaries of the Older Persons, Disability, or War Veterans Grant who need full-time personal care will receive an additional R500 per month through the Grant-in-Aid. Payments will be processed on Thursday, 6 March 2025.

War Veterans Grant

On Monday, 3 March 2025, war veterans of World War II or the Korean War will receive their grant payments, amounting to R2,100 per month.

Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant

The SRD Grant will be disbursed on Thursday, 6 March 2025, with eligible individuals receiving R350 per month. This temporary relief grant is intended for those in dire financial need who do not qualify for other grants.

Important Notice: SASSA Gold Card Replacement

SASSA has urged all beneficiaries using the SASSA Gold Card to replace it with the new Postbank Black Card by 20 March 2025. Failure to do so may result in beneficiaries being unable to withdraw funds or make transactions. Those affected should visit their nearest Postbank branch or authorized retailer to complete the card replacement process.

How to Access Your SASSA Grant

Beneficiaries can access their grant payments through various methods. Funds can be withdrawn at ATMs, major retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, Shoprite, and Spar, or through Postbank branches. Those who have opted for direct bank deposits can access their money through their personal bank accounts.
