Main Responsibilities:

The Call Centre Agent at SASSA will be responsible for answering inbound and outbound calls. This includes assisting the clients with inquiries related to social grants, following up on calls, and satisfaction with regard to service.

Logging and escalation of client cases using the Integrated Customer Care Application will also be required. Unresolved problems or complex issues may be redirected to the relevant department.

Keeping accurate records will also be a must. Updating client information into the system, thereby ensuring quality service delivery, is a necessity.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for a position, the candidate must have a Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.

  • The applicant must be almost on the edge of having 0-1 years of experience in a service or call center environment, but knowledge of the SOCPEN system will be a plus.
  • Understanding legislation like the Social Assistance Act and the SASSA Act would be of the essence, alongside having knowledge regarding how organizational procedures operate within a social assistance context.
